KJV : And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
YLT : And they sit still three years, there is no war between Aram and Israel,
RV : And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.

ERVEN : For the next two years there was peace between Israel and Aram.

BNV : তারপর তৃতীয় বছরের মাথায় যিহূদার রাজা যিহোশাফট ইস্রায়েলের রাজা আহাবের সঙ্গে দেখা করতে গেলেন|
KJV : And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
YLT : and it cometh to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat king of Judah cometh down unto the king of Israel,
RV : And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
RSV : But in the third year Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
ASV : And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.

ERVEN : Then during the third year, King Jehoshaphat of Judah went to visit King Ahab of Israel.

BNV : এসময় আহাব তাঁর রাজকর্মচারীদের বললেন, “মনে আছে অরামের রাজা গিলিয়দের রামোত্‌ আমাদের কাছ থেকে নিয়েছিলেন? রামোত্‌ ফিরিযে নেবার জন্য আমরা কিছু করিনি কেন? রামোত্‌ আমাদেরই থাকা উচিত্‌|”
KJV : And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead [is] ours, and we [be] still, [and] take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?
YLT : and the king of Israel saith unto his servants, `Have ye not known that ours [is] Ramoth-Gilead? and we are keeping silent from taking it out of the hand of the king of Aram!`
RV : And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth-gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?
RSV : And the king of Israel said to his servants, "Do you know that Ramothgilead belongs to us, and we keep quiet and do not take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?"
ASV : And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth-gilead is ours, and we are still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?
ESV : And the king of Israel said to his servants, "Do you know that Ramoth-gilead belongs to us, and we keep quiet and do not take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?"
ERVEN : Ahab asked his officials, "Remember when the king of Aram took Ramoth Gilead from us? That city is ours, so why have we done nothing to get it back?"

BNV : আহাব তখন রাজা যিহোশাফটকে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, “আপনি কি অরামের সেনাবাহিনীর সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করার জন্য আমাদের সঙ্গে রামোতে য়োগ দেবেন?”যিহোশাফট বললেন, “অবশ্যই| আমার সেনাবাহিনী ও ঘোড়া আপনার সৈন্যদলের সঙ্গে য়োগ দেবার জন্য প্রস্তুত|
KJV : And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramoth- gilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I [am] as thou [art,] my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.
YLT : And he saith unto Jehoshaphat, `Dost thou go with me to battle [to] Ramoth-Gilead?` and Jehoshaphat saith unto the king of Israel, `As I am, so thou; as my people, so thy people; as my horses, so thy horses.`

ERVEN : So Ahab asked King Jehoshaphat, "Will you join with us to go fight the Arameans at Ramoth Gilead?" Jehoshaphat answered, "Yes, you and I will be as one—my men and my horses will be as yours.

BNV : কিন্তু প্রথমে এ বিষয়ে আমরা প্রভুর পরামর্শ নেব|”
KJV : And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.
YLT : And Jehoshaphat saith unto the king of Israel, `Seek, I pray thee, to-day, the word of Jehovah;`
RV : And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD today.
RSV : And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Inquire first for the word of the LORD."
ASV : And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Inquire first, I pray thee, for the word of Jehovah.
ESV : And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Inquire first for the word of the LORD."
ERVEN : But first let's ask the Lord for advice."

BNV : তখন আহাব ভাববাদীদের এক বৈঠক ডাকলেন| সেই বৈঠকে প্রায়
KJV : Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver [it] into the hand of the king.
YLT : and the king of Israel gathereth the prophets, about four hundred men, and saith unto them, `Do I go against Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I forbear?` and they say, `Go up, and the Lord doth give [it] into the hand of the king.`
RV : Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

ESV : Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall I go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?" And they said, "Go up, for the Lord will give it into the hand of the king."
ERVEN : So Ahab called a meeting of the prophets. There were about 400 prophets at that time. Ahab asked the prophets, "Should I go and attack the Arameans at Ramoth Gilead or not?" The prophets answered Ahab, "Yes, because the Lord will let you defeat Ramoth Gilead."

BNV : কিন্তু যিহোশাফট তাদের বললেন, “এখানে কি প্রভুর অন্য কোন ভাববাদী উপস্থিত আছেন? তাহলে আমাদের তাঁকেও ঈশ্বরের মতামত সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞেস করা উচিত্‌|”
KJV : And Jehoshaphat said, [Is there] not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?
YLT : And Jehoshaphat saith, `Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah besides, and we seek by him?`
RV : But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here besides a prophet of the LORD, that we might inquire of him?
RSV : But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not here another prophet of the LORD of whom we may inquire?"
ASV : But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah besides, that we may inquire of him?
ESV : But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not here another prophet of the LORD of whom we may inquire?"
ERVEN : But Jehoshaphat said, "Doesn't the Lord have another prophet here? Let's ask him what God says."

BNV : রাজা আহাব বললেন, “য়িম্লের পুত্র মীখায় নামে ভাববাদী এখানে আছেন| আমি তাকে পছন্দ করি না কারণ যখনই সে প্রভুর কথা বলে কখনও আমার সম্পর্কে ভালো কোনো কথা বলে না|”যিহোশাফট বললেন, “মহারাজ আহাব আপনার মুখে একথা শোভা পায না|”
KJV : And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, [There is] yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
YLT : And the king of Israel saith unto Jehoshaphat, `Yet -- one man to seek Jehovah by him, and I have hated him, for he doth not prophesy concerning me good, but evil -- Micaiah son of Imlah;` and Jehoshaphat saith, `Let not the king say so.`

ESV : And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the LORD, Micaiah the son of Imlah, but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but evil." And Jehoshaphat said, "Let not the king say so."
ERVEN : King Ahab answered, "Yes, there is another prophet. His name is Micaiah son of Imlah. But I hate him because he will not say anything good about me when he speaks for the Lord. He always says things that I don't like." Jehoshaphat said, "The king should not say that!"

BNV : তখন রাজা আহাব রাজকর্মচারীদের এক জনকে গিয়ে মীখায়কে খুঁজে বের করতে বললেন|
KJV : Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten [hither] Micaiah the son of Imlah.
YLT : And the king of Israel calleth unto a certain eunuch, and saith, `Hasten Micaiah son of Imlah.`
RV : Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imlah.
RSV : Then the king of Israel summoned an officer and said, "Bring quickly Micaiah the son of Imlah."
ASV : Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imlah.
ESV : Then the king of Israel summoned an officer and said, "Bring quickly Micaiah the son of Imlah."
ERVEN : So King Ahab told one of his officers to go and find Micaiah.

BNV : সে সময় দুজন রাজাই তাঁদের রাজকীয পরিচ্ছদ পরেছিলেন| তাঁরা শমরিয়ায ঢোকার দরজার কাছে বিচার কক্ষে রাজ সিংহাসনে বসেছিলেন| সমস্ত ভাববাদীরা তাঁদের সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে ভাববাণী করছিলেন|
KJV : And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
YLT : And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah are sitting, each on his throne, clothed with garments, in a threshing-floor, at the opening of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets are prophesying before them.
RV : Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.

ERVEN : At that time the two kings were sitting on their thrones, with their royal robes on, at the judgment place near the gates of Samaria. All the prophets were standing before them, prophesying.

BNV : সেখানে কনানীর পুত্র সিদিকিয় নামে এক ভাববাদী ছিলেন| সিদিকিয় কিছু লোহার শিং বানিয়ে আহাবকে বললেন, “প্রভু বলেছেন, ‘অরামের সেনাবাহিনীর বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করার সময় তুমি এই শিংগুলো ব্যবহার করলে ওদের যুদ্ধে হারাতে ও ধ্বংস করতে পারবে|”‘
KJV : And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.
YLT : And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah maketh for himself horns of iron, and saith, `Thus said Jehovah, By these thou dost push the Aramaeans till they are consumed;`
RV : And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until they be consumed.
RSV : And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made for himself horns of iron, and said, "Thus says the LORD, `With these you shall push the Syrians until they are destroyed.'"
ASV : And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith Jehovah, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until they be consumed.
ESV : And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made for himself horns of iron and said, "Thus says the LORD, 'With these you shall push the Syrians until they are destroyed.'"
ERVEN : One of the prophets was named Zedekiah son of Kenaanah. Zedekiah made some iron horns and said to Ahab, "The Lord says, 'You will use these iron horns to fight against the army of Aram. You will defeat them and destroy them.'"

BNV : অন্য সমস্ত ভাববাদীরাও সিদিকিয়র কথার সঙ্গে একমত হলেন| ভাববাদীরা বললেন, “আপনার সেনাবাহিনীর এবার যাত্রা শুরু করা উচিত্‌| রামোতে প্রভুর সহায়তায আপনার সেনাবাহিনী অরামের সৈন্য দলের বিরুদ্ধে অবশ্যই জয়লাভ করবে|”
KJV : And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth- gilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver [it] into the king’s hand.
YLT : and all the prophets are prophesying so, saying, `Go up to Ramoth-Gilead, and prosper, and Jehovah hath given [it] into the hand of the king.`
RV : And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
RSV : And all the prophets prophesied so, and said, "Go up to Ramothgilead and triumph; the LORD will give it into the hand of the king."
ASV : And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper; for Jehovah will deliver it into the hand of the king.
ESV : And all the prophets prophesied so and said, "Go up to Ramoth-gilead and triumph; the LORD will give it into the hand of the king."
ERVEN : All the other prophets agreed with Zedekiah and said, "Your army should march now to go fight against the Arameans at Ramoth Gilead. You will win the battle. The Lord will let you defeat them."

BNV : এসব যখন হচ্ছিল, য়ে রাজকর্মচারী মীখায়ের খোঁজে গিয়েছিল সে মীখায়কে খুঁজে বের করে বলল, “দেখ সমস্ত ভাববাদীরাই বলেছেন মহারাজ যুদ্ধে জয়লাভ করবেন| আমি তোমাকে আগেই বলে দিচ্ছি, সে কথায় সায় দেওয়াই কিন্তু সব চেয়ে নিরাপদ|”
KJV : And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets [declare] good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak [that which is] good.
YLT : And the messenger who hath gone to call Micaiah hath spoken unto him, saying, `Lo, I pray thee, the words of the prophets, with one mouth, [are] good towards the king; let it be, I pray thee, thy word as the word of one of them -- and thou hast spoken good.`
RV : And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets {cf15i declare} good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak thou good.
RSV : And the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him, "Behold, the words of the prophets with one accord are favorable to the king; let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably."
ASV : And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak thou good.
ESV : And the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him, "Behold, the words of the prophets with one accord are favorable to the king. Let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably."
ERVEN : While this was happening, the officer went to find Micaiah. When he found him, the officer told him, "All the other prophets have said that the king will succeed, so you should say the same thing."

BNV : কিন্তু মীখায় বলল, “না! আমি প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছি য়ে ঐশ্বরিক শক্তির বলে প্রভু আমায় দিয়ে যা বলাবেন আমি তাই বলব|”
KJV : And Micaiah said, [As] the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.
YLT : And Micaiah saith, `Jehovah liveth; surely that which Jehovah saith unto me -- it I speak.`
RV : And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.
RSV : But Micaiah said, "As the LORD lives, what the LORD says to me, that I will speak."
ASV : And Micaiah said, As Jehovah liveth, what Jehovah saith unto me, that will I speak.
ESV : But Micaiah said, "As the LORD lives, what the LORD says to me, that I will speak."
ERVEN : But Micaiah answered, "As surely as the Lord lives, I can say only what the Lord says."

BNV : মীখায় তখন গিয়ে রাজা আহাবের সামনে দাঁড়ালে রাজা তাঁকে প্রশ্ন করলেন, “মীখায় আমি ও রাজা যিহোশাফট কি সম্মিলিত সেনাবাহিনী নিয়ে এখন রামোতে অরামের সৈন্যদলের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ যাত্রা করতে পারি?”মীখায় বলল, “নিশ্চয়ই! আপনারা দুজনে গিয়ে এখন যুদ্ধ করলে, প্রভু আপনাদের জিততে সাহায্য করবেন|”
KJV : So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver [it] into the hand of the king.

ESV : And when he had come to the king, the king said to him, "Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we refrain?" And he answered him, "Go up and triumph; the LORD will give it into the hand of the king."
ERVEN : Micaiah went and stood before King Ahab. The king asked him, "Micaiah, should we go and attack the Arameans at Ramoth Gilead or not?" Micaiah answered, "Yes, go and be successful! The Lord will let you take the city."

BNV : আহাব বললেন, “মীখায় আপনি মোটেই দৈববাণী করছেন না| আপনি নিজের কথা বলছেন| আমাকে সত্যি কথা বলুন| আপনাকে কত বার বলবো? আপনি আমাকে প্রভুর অভিমত জানান|”
KJV : And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but [that which is] true in the name of the LORD?
YLT : And the king saith unto him, `How many times am I adjuring thee that thou speak nothing unto me but truth in the name of Jehovah?`
RV : And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou speak unto me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?
RSV : But the king said to him, "How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?"
ASV : And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou speak unto me nothing but the truth in the name of Jehovah?
ESV : But the king said to him, "How many times shall I make you swear that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?"
ERVEN : But Ahab answered, "How many times do I have to tell you? Tell me the truth. What does the Lord say!"

BNV : অগত্যা মীখায় বলল, “আমি স্পষ্ট দেখতে পাচ্ছি, কি ঘটতে চলেছে| ইস্রায়েলের সেনাবাহিনী পরিচালনার য়োগ্য লোকের অভাবে এক পাল মেষের মতো ছড়িয়ে পড়বে| প্রভু বলছেন, ‘এদের কোনো য়োগ্য সেনাপতি নেই| যুদ্ধ না করে এদের বাড়ি ফিরে যাওয়া উচিত্‌|”‘
KJV : And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.
YLT : And he saith, `I have seen all Israel scattered on the hills as sheep that have no shepherd, and Jehovah saith, These have no master; they turn back each to his house in peace.`
RV : And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return every man to his house in peace.
RSV : And he said, "I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd; and the LORD said, `These have no master; let each return to his home in peace.'"
ASV : And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and Jehovah said, These have no master; let them return every man to his house in peace.
ESV : And he said, "I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the LORD said, 'These have no master; let each return to his home in peace.'"
ERVEN : So Micaiah answered, "I can see the army of Israel scattered all over the hills, like sheep with no one to lead them. This is what the Lord says, 'These men have no leaders. Let them go home in peace.'"

BNV : আহাব তখন যিহোশাফটকে বললেন, “দেখলেন! আপনাকে আগেই বলেছিলাম| এই ভাববাদী আমার সম্পর্কে কখনও ভাল কথা বলে না| এমন কথা বলে যা আমি শুনতে চাই না|”
KJV : And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?
YLT : And the king of Israel saith unto Jehoshaphat, `Have I not said unto thee, He doth not prophesy of me good, but evil?`
RV : And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?
RSV : And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?"
ASV : And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?
ESV : And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?"
ERVEN : Then Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, "See, I told you! This prophet never says anything good about me. He always says something bad."

ERVEN : Then a soldier in the distance pulled back as far as he could on his bow and shot an arrow into the air. The arrow happened to hit the king of Israel in a small hole where his armor was fastened together. King Ahab said to his chariot driver, "I've been hit! Turn the chariot around and take me off the battlefield!"

ERVEN : The armies continued to fight while King Ahab was propped up in his chariot. He was leaning against the sides of the chariot, looking out toward the Arameans. His blood ran down onto the floor of the chariot. Later in the evening, he died.
